I'm sure this forum has seen a flood of these messages, but none have seemed to solve my problem, so I hope this works.
Anywho, I have recently had some very unusual problems with my Minecraft, some that I've never seen before, and I've practically given up, so that's why I'm typing this. (These problems only recently started occurring - In the past I would be just fine)
I really want to start my own brand new hardcore and try to get through the entire thing, so a few days ago I started a new one. Named it, changed it to hardcore, and put in a random seed just to mix things up. I clicked "Create World", and the game seems to work normally. Once it finished loading the world and building the terrain, it would (as the title suggests) freeze on the "Downloading Terrain" screen, as if it came to a dead standstill. A few times I had to force quit my game because it's not responding. What's interesting, however, is that a few times I've waited it out, and after maybe 3-10 minutes, the world would finally load.
Despite it loading, I still cannot play. While the chunks are loading around me, the game starts to lag real badly. I would real quickly drop down to 0 frames and the game would eventually freeze, forcing me to close it yet again. When I tried to let it load, the world closed on me and said that Minecraft has run out of memory. Yippee.
I've tried almost everything to solve this problem, but none of it works. I always have OptiFine installed, but the game still doesn't work with and without the mod. I've tried deleting some of the Minecraft.jar files in the profiles. I've got rid of MagicLauncher and used the regular launcher. I've tried updating to the latest version, and I've even deleted my entire Minecraft overall (including the .minecraft folder), downloading it again to start fresh. The issue could be something to do with Java, so I'm going to try to update it, even though I'm sure I'm on the most recent version.
Despite the troubles, I am able to download worlds from the web and put them in my saves folder and play them just fine, and I'm able to join servers with no problem. It's just creating single player worlds is the major issue.
My computer specs are:
MacBook Air (13 Inch, Mid 2012)
Processor: 1.8Ghz Intel Core i5
OS: OS X Yosemite Beta
Memory: 4 GB
Can I get some help from anybody?
Thanks!
