Your minecraft is having network connectivity issues.
This could be because the server is down.or it could be because one of your computer security programs decided to start blocking minecraft from the network. or some other network issue.
You should be able to tell which of these three it likely is by how the problem manifests. Is it all servers, or just one? Can you access the server via a browser? etc.
For starters, does it say "Connection timed out" or "Connection refused"?
The former is unsolvable, except that it might go away on its own in time. The latter is a whole nother ballgame.

Let me save you the trouble. there is already a thread started on this issue. it's not affecting everyone, but there are a few of us seeing the same thing. i have emailed Support letting them know this is going on.
