Whenever I log into a server (any server, not sever specific) the chunks take very long (5-6 seconds) per chunk to load. I also often spawn falling through unloaded chunks, then, many blocks underground from my previous location, often stuck in block (without suffocating). After this lengthy login time, I cannot use any objects (chests, machines etc.) but doors are fine, most movements I make in the first few minutes of gameplay are pointless as I keep being 'slingshotted' back to my starting position or a position near it.
After a few minutes of this, most of the lag goes away but it still an unbearable amount and fluctuates (having to wait 10 seconds for chests to open and 30 seconds+ for chat to appear). Sometimes the lag does not go away and I am simply kicked with the error "java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out".
This also happens on my other computer on my network so I am fairly sure that this is not a client specific problem.
I have tried re-installing java (64bit), disabling firewalls (computer's and modems), restarting modem, restarting computers, checking internet speeds ( http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3690636318 ) for those wondering if it's due to a poor speed (Non of my friends have this on the server we play on and I get ~400ms ping on it) I have tried uninstalling minecraft and re-installing it, running as admin.
For those wondering about my computer it has an i7-4770k 4.4ghz oc, 16gb RAM (~3gb allocated to modded clients) r9 280x, my primary computer is running windows 8.1 (the computer with the listed specs) and my secondary is running windows 8 and both on LAN connection. My modem (which is fairly new, is a HUAWEI HG659)
Note: I use two modems in my home network, one of them is setup to act as a bridge to my primary router used to connect to fiber internet, I use static ip's on my network (DHCP disabled). I have not experienced this problem with before and has occurred over the past month or so (I've had this setup for about 2 years and haven't had any problems with it before and regularly host small game servers).
Does any have any suggestions/solutions on ways to fix this and/or anyone that has experienced something like this before?
