I have and area that is about 1 chunk wide and maybe 10 or more chucks long that has very high particle levels. Even with them set to minimal I've seen them as high as 1000. I have a couple paths that go through this and my game almost comes to a complete stop when I enter. It then takes a couple of minutes to get turned around and back out.
I've tried relogging, leaving the area for an extended period to let the chunks unload, and even switched to peaceful. Nothing has helped. There aren't any farms in the affected area but there are a few close by. I've checked them all and none of them are running out of control.
Graphics are set to fast, render distance is 8 chunks (tried 6 but it didn't help), smooth lighting is off and clouds are off.
Does anybody know why this is happening or what I could do to fix it?
Sorry about the double post. My web browser crashed on the first one and I didn't think it made it through.
