It's been doing this since before I started modding it, so I put it in this forum.
Does anyone else notice that any time they craft something, it hitches up?
For instance, if I was to put 9 iron ingots on a crafting table, it freezes for a split second before giving me the option to make an iron block.
Then, once I try to grab the iron block, it freezes for an even longer period of time.
When it comes to crafting a stack of 64 of these things, I can basically leave my computer, go down, pop a hot pocket in the microwave, come back up, and have time to get settled in before it responds again. It never did this before, and I would like to figure out how to reduce it before adding mods.
For instance, imagine BuildCraft if the computer freezes every time an automatic crafting table crafts something. I would get, like, 1 frame per minute.
However, I have a batch file that copies the minecraft folder to my RAM drive and starts magic launcher to run it entirely from RAM. Magic Launcher has MC set to use up to 8GB of RAM. In every previous version, this BLAZES. And it still does, with the exception of crafting.
I also notice it uses a whole bunch of a single core during this time.
