I could play fine about 2 weeks ago and then I made my own modpack, I tried to launch my game and it gave me this socket error. I took it in to Best Buy and paid to have geek squad look at it, they ran a few programs and it didn't fix anything. I am still getting this error and I have no idea how to fix it please help me out if you know what the problem is.
You made your own modpack? So is this using the official launcher, or is it using a modded launcher such as Technic? If you're using the official launcher, have you tried reinstalling the Jar/bin files?

The only stupid question is the question you don't ask. ~GB_Implicit
Well I was trying to use the Technic launcher, I downloaded the mods onto my computer and wanted to test if they work together and it wouldn't let me in the Technic launcher, then I tried vanilla and FTB and got the same error message. How do you re-install the jar or bin, I knew how to do it before but i don't know if it changed on the launcher

No it's basically the same. .minecraft/bin and delete those files, then delete Minecraft.jar(wherever you saved it), and reinstall through Minecraft.net.

Ok so I tried to do that and there is no Minecraft.jar file in the bin there is just a backups file and nothing else
