Hi! I recently downloaded Minecraft for a friend of mine so he could join us in playing, but upon starting it for the first time, was met with this error in the launcher:

This was upon first launch of the game, after a fresh install of Java 7, whatever the most recent version on Java's website is. I attempted the basics, restarting, reinstalling, etc. This is on a Windows XP machine, fully updated, and I do not currently have any of the system specs for the machine, just that it's a laptop from 2008 or so. I can get further information on the system if necessary.
