So recently i've built my own computer and i'm new to computer building. First built i've ever done. The thing is this computer should be getting over 500 fps for sure and for all the people that will come here and say "you don't need over 100 fps" well honestly I don't care I want to fix this as it is a problem. Not that I want over 100 fps. People have told me that maybe my game isn't using all cores or maybe I need to update my motherboard, cpu and stuff like that. Can anyone guide me through this and help me get an answer?
Specs:
Monitor - Dell st2220l (Temp)
Cpu - AMD FX 8350 8-CORE
Gpu - Asus GTX 660 2GB
Motherboard - Asus M597 R2.0
Ram - 16GB
Hard Drive - 500GB
Power Supply - Thermaltake TR2 700W
Case - Fractal design r4
Mouse - Razer Deathadder
Keyboard - Razer DeathStalker
No, don't try that guide, unless you are using HD textures or modpacks like FTB or want to use the extended render distances in the snapshots; 512 MB* is entirely enough for me, only using about half of that, and I've NEVER had any out of memory problems (except ironically, before I reduced it from the default 1 GB, even that which is a bit too much for 32 bit Java; the problem wasn't so much not enough memory for Minecraft but the limited amount available to the whole Java process). Although upgrading to 64 bit Java if you have a 64 bit OS is a good idea because there can be issues running the wrong version.
*For a kicker, read the Optifine thread, near the bottom of the first post. Yes, Minecraft is NOT the memory hog most people would have you believe it is, nor does not enough memory cause lag unless your entire system is running low and it pages to disk, which doesn't happen inside the JVM, you just get an out of memory crash.

Well it help me when not using mods too. (That and I tend to blow up tons of tnt too). I guess not all computers are create equally.
Running past 120~FPS is pointless. I say this because those who cannot face reality, get this sort of problem as the game is limited itself to 120~ FPS and running past such is rather wasting system resources for absolute no reason. When you go past 120~FPS, input is already at it's absolute max latency and cannot go lower and system resource usage is more tightly scheduled which leaves resources for other background processes as well the game is more prone to FPS hiccups that will be noticed.
There is nothing wrong here, everything is running fine by what is given.
Plus the FX series of CPUs are not known for their single core/threaded performance but multicore performance and overclock-ability. Minecraft still at time is single threaded for most things. But in time it is slowly being multi-threaded. Minecraft uses 1 core, unless using Optifine for Multi-Core chunk loading, but that is only chunk loading.
Here it goes, the "120 fps is pointless" thing. Okay what you need to understand is i'm not doing this cause I want the 700 fps all the time, i'm doing it cause there could be something wrong with my computer as I only built this a few days ago. My friend has the same setup as me and gets more than me. Around the 700s.

Never to me did I say 120~ FPS is pointless. All I recall saying is running above such is pointless. For reason is like this: Do you want screen tearing? That is how you get screen tearing.
Just cause your friend has 700FPS, but they never said nor did you game settings, game version, optifine or not or anything like that, means nothing at time.
I'll try to make this simple. I've noticed that your CPU single threading isn't very good. If you want a good computer to run JAVA apps, buy an Intel CPU. Since they're better with single core operations. The best of the best, in my opinion are the Intel Core i7-4790K and Intel Xeon E3-1246 v3 @ 3.50GHz. In the other side, if you have OptiFine, you can increase your FPS by selecting the option to use Multi Core rendering.
But, still, it's a great CPU to run todays dayz (xP) games. Like Assassin's Creed Unity, The Forest and games like dat. The newer ones. Like those you see on Steam.
*btw - You shouldn't google: "The best AMD processor" and buy it. Just google "How CPUs work" and choose the best that suits for you
Thanks! You are actually the only positive one commenting so far and I love that! Thanks for the advice, a guy my mom knows picked these parts out for me and this is my first build so I don't know much, as i'm learning over time. I may upgrade to an intel later on in the year

Make sure you have 64 Bit Java before you use the guide.

TheMasterCaver's First World - possibly the most caved-out world in Minecraft history - includes world download.
TheMasterCaver's World - my own version of Minecraft largely based on my views of how the game should have evolved since 1.6.4.
Why do I still play in 1.6.4?

Don't want it. I just want to be able to get it.
