I downloaded minecraft under my windows user account (Im the administrator) but if I put a shortcut in my daughters user account it won't open unless she runs it as administrator and puts inmy user account password. I don't want her to know the pw. I tried going into properties and changing permissions for the shortcut but it always ended up the same--needing to login with my user pw. We use an hp laptop thats still using vista...
We don't do any gaming so please explain in detailed terms the steps I should take to set it up right?
and by the way it seems like when we open the program.exe that it installs every time--is this right? I am used to installing a program once and then opening that program each time. Did I download/install it wrong?
Thanks for the quick reply! I use Norton Security Suite that comes with my Comcast internet account. I disabled the windows vista firewall and windows defender. I have her user account set to "Standard user; parental controls-on; No password". The only place on my computer there is a minecraft file is in my user acccount download folder and it is the original install file--this I don't understand. Maybe i should have said there is no program executable file only the install file.
I tried just copying the Minecraft application file and pasting it into my daughters user desktop folder but once again unless I "run as administrator" and type in my pw, it won't open.
I am also having issues here. We have an established Minecraft account set up with my email (gmail). I am trying to set my son up with his own separate account so we can play Minecraft together in the online servers. How do I do this? I have set him up with his own email address but it doesn't seem to want to allow a new account with Mojang. Like it thinks I am changing my email to hotmail. I don't want to do this. I just want to add a new separate paid account so we can both play. I am on a PC laptop and he is on another PC laptop. So same household but 2 accounts for 2 different people. Anyone have any advice?
