Usually I drop down to 20 or 40 fps with Vanilla Minecraft. I have Java 1.7.0_51. Here are the specs [3.1 GB (4 originally), 246 GB of storage, NVIDIA Corporation GF119 [GeForce GT 520], Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2160 1.80GHz x 2, LinuxMint 15: Olivia (i686) ] Those are my specs . Even though your computer has 4G of RAM, That does not mean all of it is usable in the environment, Some RAM is used by your operating system, and other important processes. Leaving you with only the 3.1G available. It would be safe to dedicate 1.5G to 2G with those specs.
