My launcher had been acting up for about a week, and my launcher is not able to connect to the Minecraft.net website, therefor not allowing me to play online. I can play offline, but I'm more of a guy who loves playing with other people. The strange thing for me is that I am able to connect to Minecraft.net from my browser, so I could only suspect it isn't my internet, but my launcher. I have tried re-installing the launcher(didn't work), but that's about it. Please help.
(p.s) i do have optifine, but this is with the launcher, so I dont think that is the real problem

A: New minecraft version, which I have (i did try to switch to original 1.7.10 and away from optifin, but its still not working)
B: The new launcher made for 1.6+, which i think is pretty obvious i have if i'm running 1.7.10
Please Tell Me What You Mean If That Isn't What You Meant.
