I'll start off by saying that I'm a total Minecraft Mod newb. I've been playing MC since the beta, and I have never installed or played on any mods. I recently came across the Life in the Woods modpack on BoingBoing, and I really wanted to try it out. I suppose it's not the best introduction to mods for me since it's a collection of 40ish mods, but I digress. I did manage to install forge (though I'm still not quite sure what it is) which in turn helped me install the modpack, and everything seemed to work out great. I created a new world and walked around a bit. I noticed I was getting a bit of a stutter, so I figured I would download Optifine to help the modpack run better. I downloaded Optifine Standard 1.6.4 (the same as the forge profile I created) and I edited my forge profile to select the optifine 1.6.4 option. Unfortunately, once I reentered the world I created, I was met with broken chunks and what appeared to be default Minecraft. I would love to run the modpack WITH optifine to help my game run a bit better, but I'm not sure how to do so. Any instruction would be appreciated, but keep in mind I'm very new at this, so please be gentle.
Just put OptiFine in the mods folder instead of using it as the jar
