I'm running a Dell Optiplex 755, a basic Dell desktop from 2009. I have an Nvidia 610 graphics card installed with Windows XP. Minecraft does not run, instead reporting a "Pixel Format Not Accelerated" error.
When I run Minecraft using the Nvidia 610, the error happens. When I remove the 610 and use the computer's Intel integrated graphics card, the game works fine (albeit slowly). I have tried the common fix of sliding the "Hardware Acceleration" slider down and it does not solve the problem.
Can Minecraft run on Windows XP while using an Nvidia graphics card? Or does it not work for Windows XP anymore?
