I am playing minecraft 1.7.10 with Forge 1180

Mods - Millenaire, Invisible Lights, MrCrayfish Furniture, Pams Harvestable Craft,

My game has no sound. I have tried some suggestion from other sites, but either I am doing something wrong or they do not work

I have installed Minecraft on the computer my grandchildren use - with the exact same mods - and the soung is okay, so I know that the mods are not causing the problem,

I play other computer games - Age Of Empires, Settlers, Anno and The Sims 3. These all have sound so I know there is no problem with my speakers or computer.

Sounds are turned on in the game and all bars are set to the highest setting.

Can someone help me please?

I'm playing straight vanilla Minecraft, and my sound stopped working as well. I noticed there was no "resources" folder, so as one other site suggested, I downloaded it, with no effect. I deleted the whole minecraft installation and reinstalled (including the .minecraft folder), but still have no sound. I know it's not a mod, because I don't use any. This happens regardless of single/multi player, and I've done quite a bit of troubleshooting to ensure it's not my system, everything else plays just fine.

Any suggestions?

When your game is starting, what does it say about the sound system? You will usually find this information in the launcher console.
