I have 2 issues going on. First issue caused the 2nd.
My son tried to play this morning and only option he had was 'Play Offline' He tried to switch profiles without any success. When that did not work, he tried switching users and then he gets the infamous 'Sorry, but we couldn't connect to our server.' Please make sure you are online and that Minecraft is not blocked. (CertificateException: No subject alternative DNS name matching authserver.mojang.com found.)
I have tried to play on my account on both my computer I also get the same 'Play Offline'. Not sure what else to try. Everything else works on both computers and other games.
Yes I can. Like I said, everything else works. I just can't log in. When I try to ping authserver.mojang.com it fails, but that can be blocked I know, but it does resolve address. My son played last night without any problems, just started this morning.
So sorry man. I know how it is when my kids can't play. They don't really understand at their age why "Minecraft is broken". Time to kick the kid out of the house until Mojang responds to your case. Did you try tweeting at them?

It is possible their auth servers are having issue but usually many people start posting about it on twitter.

If that doesn't work then you will have to contact Mojang about your account. Sorry :(.

Success! Your password has been reset.
However, after I try to log in I get this:
Error! Unknown e-mail address or password.
And that is 5 seconds later. With the new password. Totally weird.
