Hi guys, I have Minecraft (1.7.10) for my laptop, An Acer Aspire5740 and I seem to only get about 13FPS. I even Installed Optifine and (through the help of youtube) changed all the settings to run MC at its absolute basic level. I know pretty much nothing about computers but my friend said it could run Minecraft. I also changed it so that MC would use 2GB of ram but still no major changes. I don't even know if anyone will read this but any help is appreciated! I have no mods for it, only Optifine. I had recently wiped my laptop so It doesn't have that many programs besides the one it came with. The game is playable but Id like to hear some feedback. Thanks. Ill post the specs of my laptop if it helps.
Manufacturer: Acer
Model: Aspire 5740
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 430 @ 2.27GHz 2.27GHz
Installed memory (RAM): 4.00 GB (3.68 GB usable)
System Type: 64-bit Operating System
Pen and Touch: No Pen or Touch is available for this Display
Try getting a game booster such as Razer www.razerzone.com/gamebooster. Also change your PC to run with best performance. To do that search RAM in the start menu. Be sure to press enter. Now on the bar beside the window, go to remote acces. That should open a new window. Click on the advanced tab and fill the bubble with optimize for best performance. This may make your computer look crappy but deal with it, because it reduces lag tremendously

It's your GPU. I don't know what GPU you have, but obviously it isn't good. Look up how to upgrade your graphics cards and recommended ones. After you get a new one you will run games like a dream(depending on the one you get) Spend at least $60 on one. I recommend the HD7770 from AMD. Good luck, if you have any questions just PM me.
Ah, you have a laptop. So you *might* be able to get a new gpu. You'd be better off getting a new computer.
It more than likely has to do with your graphics card/GPU. Buying a new one for a laptop would probably not be the easiest thing in the world if you don't have experience doing it, but it can be done.
