This has happened before. From time to time, authentification is taken down for maintainence. It is necessary and it just means you need to wait a little while before you can play multiplayer, that's all. Be patient.
On http://help.mojang.com it says the multi-player session service is currently down. You're just going to have to wait like everybody else when this happens.
