Alright, so whenever I try to open minecraft the user account control says that minecraft.exe wants to make changes. If I say yes it will let me open it. However, it wants to do this every time, even after saying yes.
This started after I attempted to fix another issue, which was that minecraft would freeze up soon after I opened it, but then would work fine after opening it a second time. I learned it could have been a compatibility issue with a service pack. I clicked on the compatibility troubleshooter and selected the test recommended settings button. It needed to download something so I let it and began the test.
During the test minecraft froze up as it normally did the first time. After restarting my computer and activating minecraft, it tells me it wants to make changes and won't stop. I can turn the user account control off, but then it will make changes anyway.
I'm pretty sure this is something to do with the compatibility troubleshooter, but only does this with minecraft. Could this become an issue? If so, is there anyway to make it stop? Or should it be ignored?
EDIT: I no longer have this issue. My computer had to fixed due to a virus (unrelated to the problem above), and I got it back without this problem. I still have no idea what it was though...
A system restore has not solved the issue, and oddly enough it doesn't ask when minecraft.exe isn't on the desktop. It also doesn't ask when it has been renamed. Hope this is relevant.
