I'm running windows 8 and have been playing minecraft for a couple years now. I have 2 computers in the house and we used to play all the time over LAN, but then I took a few months off and now we can't connect. We have Forge on both machines, both the same version. We are both using the same version of Minecraft. We can connect to servers. I went into networks settings and we are both able to see each other there. Is there anything else I can do?

Where are all the smart people when you need them? I did a search on "can't connect to LAN" and there were many threads that no one answered at all. The one with replies was useless. I guess I'll uninstall everything and start fresh. If that doesn't work, I'll bug report it.

Thanks for moving my thread to modded client support LOL. I uninstalled everything and now just have a brand new copy of vanilla minecraft. I still can't connect via LAN. We were able to "direct connect" from the laptop to the desktop though. I haven't tried going from the desktop to the laptop and my sweet little darlings *cough cough* wanted to eat supper.
