So I am on a core i3 3220 with 4 gigs of ram, and run a 64 bit java on arch linux. I usually get about 50-60 fps and use oracle java.
However, about 3 days ago (strangly, a few days after moving from compiz to dwm (also tried openbox, to be sure)), my framerates dropped significanty. I first found that my startup script was chaining glc-record to record video. However, after I removed this (checked, and rewrote the script, and uninstalled glc, just to be sure) I stiff had the lag. On modded games (30 mods, including biggies like tmi and twilightforest), I go as low as 5 fps while unmodded minecraft gives me a meger 14 fps. I suspect some kind of library update. Any ideas?
Edit: I experienced the lag as soon as I updated my lucky blocks mod, but what about the unmodded stuff? It is on a different profile with a different game dir. I will post the results after flushing libraries.
Edit(er): I also tried other java versions, openjdk, 32bit java, and pretty much all the java in AUR
