So I recently updated my mac to OS X 10.10. I tested for bugs and etc. and everything is working fine, so just saying now, don't blame it on the operating system. I tried other games, and they all ran at a smooth 60 fps, and they use up more cpu than minecraft. I can only play minecraft with vsyc, otherwise, my screen tears. But Now, when I put it on vsync, it runs at 30 fps and doesn't go up. What is going on. I removed all texture packs and turned all my settings down but it's stuck at 30. What happened? Does anyone know how to fix this? When I updated, I did have to re-install Java SE.
EDIT: I learned that if I log on minecraft 1.6.4 it doesn't get that problem. I get a stable 60 fps. It's just in minecraft 1.7 in general
It means that your computer isn't getting 60fps+ without vsync with that version of minecraft. So with vsync the fastest frame rate that's a simple ratio of your refresh rate is 30fps (1/2 of 60fps). If your non sync'd frame rate was even slower, then the vsync rate might be 15fps (1/4 of 60).
