Hello, I had been playing just a little earlier and had not even restarted my client when I noticed a sort of... stutter. It wasn't as annoying at first, but later on it was to the point i almost fell in lava because the frames literally dropped to 0 for about a second. I usually get 70-150 fps, but nonetheless no matter where I am it just drops. I tried different worlds.. different servers, cleaning my cpu fans and everything. I've read countless threads, none of them seem to have a good answer and when they do the solutions never work. I've tried everything: disabling/enabling vsync/opengl, changing render distance, allocating more ram, and even installing optifine(which i promptly removed after I found it didn't help). I appreciate any help, thanks!
my specs
OS: windows 8.1 64-bit
processor: intel(R)Core(TM)i5-4670K cpu @ 3.40GHz (4cpus),
8 gigs ram
video card: msi r9 270x
i'm using java 7 64 bit (i've reinstalled and tried java 6 to no avail as well)
I'm getting this exact same problem.. if someone can reply, please do so. I have tried getting Optifine, and it slightly helped my problem, but after a while of playing, this would happen again.
I totally had this problem. 1 Simple way is to cap your FPS. 2nd way (a bit complicated) is to overclock your processor, it worked for me, I got a boost of max 120 to 322 fps. You should definitely try it.
