Hi. I've always had a problem with fps on FTB for some reason, and no matter all the configurations i've tried with my pc, nothing has changed. Before you say anything, I do not have a bad computer or anything like that. In fact, I have an alienware from December 2012 that i customized to have very good specs. Here they are:

Windows 7 Home premium

16 GB ram

Intel 17-3630QM cpu @ 2.40 GHZ quad core processor

NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M + Intel HD Graphics 4,000 (I dont use it)

256 GB SSD

1600X900 display

M14xR2 Alienware model (14 inch)

If anyone would be able to help me, I would like to know why this computer only gets around 5-10 fps with ftb. Support is very appreciated

I myself also have a few performance issues with FTB but some mods that seemed to help were fps plus, optileaves, optifine, and unglitch. If those don't work then you can try increasing the allocated ram or you can use some of the jvm arguments that I use. Thanks for responding i will try to...I have also tried to use optifine before but for some reason its made no difference I will try these other suggestions tho, and thanks!
