All the machines dont have their usual inventory icons (it seems like a iron plate) and when you place any, they are invisible and let you see through the world, like X-Ray. I tried using the recommended and the lastest versions of forge and it didnt get resolved. Also, i tried to use different versions of the mod, but had no difference at all. Im playing in minecraft 1.7.2 and using the 484 version of IC2
