Hey, I know that this is probably a very stupid question but I just downloaded Minecraft so give me some slack. Anyway, I copied one of my worlds so just incase I ruin the first one. So when I get to the worlds file and try to open it it only opens some more files. I'm attaching a pic so hopefully that will help. I'm using a mac. Please don't hate me for this question, I'm new to this. Thanks!
If you've put your world copy in some place, then you need to create a Launcher Profile that has a game directory set to one directory above your saved world. If you are still confused, create a new world in Minecraft, then see how it is laid out on disk and move your world to a parallel position.
If despite doing everything right the world doesn't show up in Minecraft's select world menu your world could either be corrupted or be in an obsolete save format.
