i have been trying to solve this issue for the past week now on my own and i have been searching everywhere on the internet and i have decided that is time to ask the minecraft community
my problem is that when i start playing the game i can play smoothly on a solid 60 frames, then after 5 minutes or so it drops to 0 for another minute then goes back to 60 for about 2 seconds to see that i was murdered by a zombie then freeze up again and it wont let me click the respawn button.
this issue makes it virtually impossible to play the game let alone enjoy it.
JVM arguments are under your launcher profile, it basically allows you to reserve memory for Minecraft and other memory related stuff. The default seems to be -Xmx1G which means up to a maximum of 1GB.
Try the suggestions; using optifine, using the jar launcher, and/or changing your JVM arguments.
Also install Java 64-bit if you don't have it.
