I got bored with Vanilla minecraft and decided to try to do some mods. I got forge and everything, and installed it. The only problem is, every time I try to click on the icon for forge, it just tries to install forge again.
So basically I have no idea how to run it. I tried to look in Program Files because I saved it there, but I got a bunch of files and didn't know which one to click on.
Well, I searched for what you said on my launcher, and I found something. I think I didn't click the correct drop-down menu because I only got one option; there were no options that said Forge.
I ran the installer about 11 times because I didn't know you're not supposed to click on the thing to make it work. I would only imagine it was successful at least once because I installed it so many times
I just installed it in Program Files (x86) because that's what came up when I downloaded the game. I'm not sure if putting a shortcut on the desktop messed anything up, but it probably didn't.
Ok, then I will redownload forge and see if it wants to go in the Minecraft folder and not Program Files like it said previously. I didn't actually do anything to the download path, because I already knew that you're generally not supposed to mess with it, Program Files is just what came up.
As a last resort, what's the Minecraft file called, so I can correct the download path if necessary?
I tried installing it again, and I got an exactly identical download path to the one mentioned in your post, but I still get only one profile and it's not Forge.
I checked, and minecraft is still in it's default location, so I have absolutely no idea why it's not working at this point

All I need to do is run the launcher then? And what about the "seperate profile" part? What does that mean?
Here's a pic:
