I am a newbie to this, and I do have a paid version. The splash screen for mInecraft indicates version 1.2.5. How can I upgrade? I thought it happened automatically? Please can you help- thank you.
The previous launcher only offered you a choice to upgrade or not and stopped working / being supported around version 1.6, whereas the current launcher controls which version you run via the settings in the profile that you select.
So to use a newer version just edit your profile / create a new one and specify which version you want to use, or tell it to use "latest version" which will work much like the previous launcher and auto update.
