Last month my graphics card completely died. I got it replaced, but it was a downgrade due to my computer being too old for most new graphics cards.
Once I tried playing MC on this new card, my FPS is so low I can't work with it. It wont seem to go above 5FPS on servers, singleplayer, or even in the opening menu! Before the change, my FPS was at least 50.
I know my system requirements are above required, even with the new graphics card, but I can not seem to find out why I am having this trouble. I have deleted both Java and MC and reinstalled multiple times, tried Optifine, but nothing is helping.
My version of Java is the newest, v7 I believe?

A new system is too much for me at the moment. I guess the new graphics card isn't enough, but that'll be hard to upgrade as well due to cost. IS there any way to get it working, or will I have to wait to upgrade?
A Geforce FX 5500 is a very low ended graphics card for Minecraft. I was able to manage 10-15 fps with a Geforce FX 5200 before with an extremely low resolution (680x480) on all low settings, and that graphics card had 512MB of video memory, but I don't recommend it. Try getting a better graphics card, even some of the newer low-ended video cards can play Minecraft better.
If you're still running an AGP video card, I'd also recommend a new motherboard or computer. The main problem I see is that your video card has a very low amount of video RAM.

ModeratorTried, but with even the lowest possible settings, there's absolutely no difference.
