Hi there! I've been experiencing a couple of issues during these past couple weeks or so of playing MC that i've never encountered before.
Lately, whilst playing multiplayer I'm experiencing a weird glitch where my skin disappears from my point of view, but to to other players it is still there.
From what I know so far, the following activities trigger this bug:
Going through a nether portal
Respawning
Warping to any form of location.
I'll update this list more as I discover more and more of these, but I was wondering if anybody else was experiencing these kind of issues? I'd hope it's not just me.
I, and everyone on the server that I help run, have that problem as well. It started a couple of weeks ago and occurs under the exact circumstances you describe.
Our server is currently 1.7.9, and all of our players use unmodified clients. The same bug exists in SP in 1.7.9.
I've seen a number of threads about this issue but no advice or explanations. Perhaps I missed the more helpful threads. But I definitely wanted to post in order to say that you're not alone.
It's funny. Not long after I posted here I found a solution. I haven't tested it yet in SP, but updating my client to 1.7.10 seems to have fixed the problem for me on my server, even though the server itself is still running 1.7.9. After another day or so I'll have more information, but that may be the easier-than-it-needs-to-be fix that all of us were looking for.
