Ok, so my friend has been having trouble with a simple install of a few mods I gave him. So I decided I could make a custom technic modpack and then send him the link so he could use it and we could play multiplayer together with the mods. I have the modded server already and when I play the mods with the regular minecraft launcher it works 100% perfectly. So heres what I did to create the modpack, pretty sure I followed all the instructions I was given. I made a folder, called it mod pack, made 3 folders in here, bin, config, and mods. I put 4 config files in the configs folder and 24 mods in the mods folder. Then in the bin I put the recommended universal forge version, renamed it modpack.jar, and then a compressed all 3 folders into 1 folder, which I titled modpack.zip. I put it into the public folder of my dropbox, clicked copy link (which I tested and it was a direct download link), and then pasted that link in mod pack location on the technic website. I copied the modpack link it gave me, entered it in technic, pressed play, waited, and it loaded vanilla minecraft 1.6.4. I have looked up every possible tutorial out there. I just can't figure it out. Here are the links, first one downloads my mod pack.zip, 2nd one will load you my mod pack in technic launcher.
Same thing is happening to me. The mods folder must be called "mods", not "coremods". I've followed, read and watched numerous forums, sites and videos, and even downloaded a template, but still only loading Vanilla.
I know this thread is old but has been responded to somewhat recently. So here's the problem from what I know, before I didn't have a configs file, when I updated my pack, the configs were added, but it would always load vanilla but still downloads everything and puts all the files at there correct locations.
Edit: All of that was wrong, I did more research, make sure to rename your forge/jar to modpack.jar. IF that doesn't fix it then I don't know what will.
