I have had the exact same problems recently with my minecraft.exe. It used to start fine until one day when the same errors you described above came up. I did however find an interesting article online that may help I will keep you posted.
Assuming that since you play minecraft you are skilled in computers right well you could try to launch with a batch or .bat. Yet again I have no idea wether this works or not but I know how annoying it can be so if you are willing to try everything try this
org.lwjgl.LWJGLException: Pixel format not accelerated
I have updated my video card to latest driver (ATI Radeon HD 4650 on Windows 7 64 bit), but still get the error.
