I am attempting to add a mod for my son to play. I have viewed many youtube videos, done extensive search and cant figure it out. Every step tells me to open the .minecraft folder, then open the bin directory, then open the minecraft.jar when I open the bin directory there is only one thing listed,
version 9/13/2013 File 1kb
I am also not able to force update the game when I open it.
Yes I have a premium game that I paid for and have tried to re-install it and nothing changes. What can I do to install mods without this minecraft.jar?
i read the instructions on this forum on how to do it and like i said the step where it gets to to open the minecraft folder etc I DO NOT HAVE. We just purchased this game online 2 weeks ago and downloaded it then. So how could it be old?
When you say minecraft folder, do you mean the .jar or the .minecraft folder? Also, have you run the game at least once with the proper version of mods you want? The .jars are now located in the versions folder, although you can just run the Forge installer and have it make its own version.
