no no no you dont launch it like that you replace the old jar with the new one you cant launch it wiht jar launcher it is not an applet

I'm assuming i'll need to replace the "launcher.jar" in Users/bootadmin/Library/Application Support/minecraft, with the 1.5.2.jar and open up the minecraft in applications ?
Correct me if i'm wrong, i'm sorta new to this.

I realised what poiihy meant. However, previously i managed to launch 1.5.2 with just the jar file, my mates and i managed to play from the jar while i was using a Mac running on snow leopard.
We managed to play multi-player via hamachi. Any body knows why i can't do it now that i'm running on Mavericks ?

I'm able to run 1.7.10 demo edition of mine craft.
That proves that the java is working fine!
That means the mine craft jar that i downloaded isn't working, however my mates are able to play that edition.
So right now, its back to square one...
You have a relief now, then you can freely play that game. But Demo version will last for 100 mins (1 hour, 40 minutes)!
No i can run 1.5.2 just fine with mavericks and latest java
What, why can't you play 1.7.10, do you have pirated minecraft?
