i pinged a minecraft server as a joke with network utility and now i cant connect to the server using my macbook. I can however connect using my desktop. Ive tried restarting my computer multiple times without success. Please help me to be able to connect to the server again, many thanks.

I need more details. Does your client throw an error? Does it crash?
