Greetings, I've been wanting to get onto PC minecraft after not being able to play for a long time. It ran fine on my old 2004 dell desktop with Windows XP. I recently got a refurbished PC to replace that one, a Dell Optiplex 745, with Windows 7 Pro and 4GB of RAM. So I figured, hey, this'll run minecraft no problem. I was wrong. I go to play the game, and it crashes back to the launcher. I researched my problem, and it says my drivers are out of date. I went on Intel's website and it said the drivers are all up to date. How could the game run on my old PC which is outdated, and not on this one with better graphics card and specs? I also downloaded Java of course. Here is the error message in the dev console:
A fatal error has been detected by Java Runtime Envrionment:
EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x066e3e88, pid=3260, tid=3004
Note that I tried downloading the game over and over, with no dice. Thank you for any help.
