So like the title says I have tried combining fml and optifine for 1.6.4 and ive watched roughly 6 videos. Some show the same method or just adding forge and tossing in optifine to the mods folder. Some have you use win rar to add the files inside optifine TO the fml.... neither work for me... I can either have forge or have a optifine profile but I cannot for the life of me combine them...
i have forge mod installer 9.11.1.965 and i am trying to add optifine 1.6.4 hd U D1 to the same version as forge or "profile"
Its not so much that I NEED optifine but it would be nice to have :/
my system specs in case someone may think its a compatibility issue with optifine
windows 8.1
a8 quad core 1.7mhz
8gb ram (i allocate 4096m to both xmx and xms in the jvm arguments and i also give xxmaxpermgensize=2048m)
I ALSO go further adding these lines to not only my server bat but i add the maxpermgemsize to my version.json as well which idk if i NEEDED to but i figured better be safe than sorry
You ever consider, I don't know, reading Optifine instructions? It details everything you need to know to get Optifine to work with Forge, which is actually extremely easy.
Most of these "tutorials" are seriously outdated.

that was one of the suggestions in the "outdated" videos and the client shows mojang and then it closes and errors.

seemed to work without my mods added but soon as i replace them all inside the error returns
Read Ars Magica 2 FAQ. There's an additional patch needed for it to work with Optifine. That one actually is a bit tricky, so post back here if you still have problems after applying the patch.
