I need a little bit of assistance with finding out my issue to why I have suddenly become so lagging in other multiplayer servers.
A couple days ago while I was playing on a public US minecraft server (shotbow) The power got knocked out a few times... Ever since that incident, my connection to minecraft has been pretty choppy and it's becoming quite aggravating when i try to play with others online. It has never happened before and it's happening to two servers that I play on (I don't play on any other servers so i can't test if it's just those servers lagging or what)
The type of lag I am getting is a somewhat delay lag, where I can be mining blocks and get nothing from them until a couple of seconds, and even after i wait those few seconds the blocks re-appear as if i never mined them. It's as if the server freezes or I cannot keep up with the server. My ping is fine, and i have resetted my modem a couple of times, yet I still get this terrible lag. again, everything will seem to freeze (i can still be walking around) and after a few seconds of the freeze, everything fast forwards and or i return to where i was before i moved away from previous location.. if this makes sense.
I have never had this issue before with server lag, my connection has always been at it's game and i know for certain it's not a graphics lag or whatnot because Minecraft runs perfectly smooth on all high settings.
Any tips or help as to what can be the problem and how i can resolve???
Was the power outage caused by a storm? Lightning could have struck nearby and semi-fried the modem/router. I've had it happen before.
Try playing on another server and see if it is still lagging first.
If the power outage wasn't caused by a storm, it still could have damaged the router/modem. If I were you, I would request a new one from my ISP and see if it fixed the issue.
Yes, it was during a thunderstorm unfortunately. That would seem to make more sense.. Thank you for replying, ill see if we can exchange modems sometime soon, and when it happens ill update.
Though, how come this only happens to Minecraft and no other game or browser???

I've suggested everything I can think of. Sorry if I couldn't be of more help:(
