I am playing with the Yogscast Complete modpack, which contains a lot of major mods. I have however, uninstalled any graphical mods and tweaks. I decided to add the GLSL Shaders Mod (something I have successfully done with a number of modpacks), but found the entire Minecraft instance ran at 1 FPS. Normally, I would throw my hands up and say "Well, it must be too much", and uninstall the mod. Here's the strange part: When I pressed escape to quit, the game ran at ~60 FPS.
After fiddling around a bit, I have found that when I am in the in-game menu, the game runs at the speed it should, and that as soon as I am actually in game, or in the title menu, it runs at 1 FPS.
I have not yet found anyone with a similar issue, and would really love some help. Please, if you have any advice, or can link me to some similar posts, I would really appreciate it.
That happens automatically, in many cases, the menu runs roughly 60 fps higher than you actually run in game, because the menu has a lot less to render then the actual game screen. While I can't help you with a fix, I might suggest removing the Shader's mod. As it might be incompatible with another mod in that pack
Okay, I appreciate your help. I certainly find it weird that the exact same thing renders perfectly fine as soon as the menu is overlayed, and that it is slow during the title screen.
I'll keep digging, but I may just take your advice and uninstall.
Shader's Mod Error (I don't know if it is incompatible with another mod or something like). Maybe Shader's Mod Forge version is bugged. I removed it and all is working fine now.

Firstly, I am using a gaming rig that usually has no difficulty running games on ultra. The important specs are as follows:
GPU: NVidia GeForce GTX 680, 4GB
CPU: Intel Core i7-3770k @ 3.5 - 3.9 GHz
Memory: 16GB (8GB allocated to Minecraft)
SystemOS: Win7, 64bit
Java: SE Runtime Environment, v1.7.0_51-b13

Minecraft Vanilla run at 200 fps here. With mods it runs at 100/150, but only in menu. when I close menu fps goes to 1/2...
This is normal. FPS on menu where nothing is being rendered but the menu itself is always going to be high. In game, it goes down.
