Recently, I restarted my lap top and wanted to re-download Minecraft. However, something seems to prevent it from downloading. It supposedly says it's downloaded but when i go to run the program it doesn't work. I already tried multiple things: Downloading it on different browsers, turning firewall off, deleting and re-downloading java but nothing works. I have noticed something odd about this though; Minecraft seems like it cant even download. Whenever i download Minecraft and search for it in the Start search-bar, it is there but when i do %appdata% .minecraft isn't there. Also, i tried maybe seeing if firewall blocked it from being downloaded so i tried unblocking it but it wasn't in the list of programs. It doesn't seem to be my lap top because I downloaded another game and it worked smoothly. Please help, thank you.
Minecraft will not appear on the programs list, it's not that type of program. What you downloaded from http://minecraft.net/download is the launcher, and is what you run to run the game. If it doesn't open, you may have a corrupt installation of Java. If so, please remove all versions of Java from the machine via the control panel. Reboot, then grab the latest here, http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Thank you so much, It worked perfectly! You wouldn't believe how frustrated i was and you just saved me. I really appreciate the help you've given. Once again, thank you so much!
