EDIT: Ok, so I have a Library folder under "Users." The only problem is that I can't find it normally. I can't search it, and I can only find it when I copy a screenshot I took in Minecraft and see where it's saved. I think it's a hidden folder. My new problem is: How do I open up the hidden folder normally so that I can move stuff around. Help?
ORIGINAL: I'm trying to export a map from single player so that I can post it on these forms for download. People keep telling me to find a .minecraft folder, but I can't find it. I don't even really know what I'm trying to do (I've never done this before). I'm running on a Mac, with OS X version 10.9.4. Thanks in advance!
In Winrar navigate to the folder you want to export and select it. In the top menu select Add. In the window that pops up click Browse... and choose where you want your file to be saved. Once you have done that select the archive format if necessary then click OK.

Well, I downloaded Winrar but it didn't actually open it. I got this weird .gz file. But I was able to compress my save into a .zip file, which automatically brings up the save. Can I post zip files on the forums, to your knowledge?

I'm not entirely sure if you can attach .zip files on forum posts but either way I would recommend you upload your world to an external file hosting site such as Mediafire or Dropbox. You also might want to check out curse.com too since there appears to be integration for that in the new forum software.
Ok I'm just now starting to understand what you meant, and I'm about to upload the map. I suggest you check it out, I hope you like it! And thanks for all your help.
