There is one important thing to remember about Minecraft mods, which almost everybody forgets/overlooks. It's basically the cause of about 3/4 support threads in this forum. Versions.
Unless stated otherwise assume all mods work only with their intended Minecraft version. Using mods for a different Minecraft version will crash the game.
I next wish to install some modes.
I read http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2058064, and they indicated to find /home/me/.minecraft/bin, but I have no such file.
Questions.
1. Is there a good modern tutorial on installing mods?
2. Do I need some some other software to manage mods? I've read a little about Minecraft Forge. Is this something I need?
Thanks
Thanks grimallq,
Anything else this is often "required"?
I recently posted another related question (http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/2785076-which-version-of-minecraft-forge-to-use/) about version of Forge to use. Is this also related to version of Minecraft and mods?
