So, I want to play Minecraft Tekkit (any of the modpacks in the technic launcher, doesn't really matter which) and I'm getting very low FPS. Five to ten frames, at best. This is with my laptop set on the Performance setting, with nothing else running in the background, a little extra RAM dedicated to Minecraft alone and all the settings turned down as far as I can get them.
Technical info:
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 2.40 GHz
RAM: 8GB
Hard Disk Drive: 143 GB
I'm using a 64-bit version of Java.
As I said before, I already tried dedicating more RAM to Minecraft, I also lowered all the video settings I knew about (render distance, particles, clouds, bobbing, graphics, and changing the performance to Max FPS), I even gave Java a high priority in the task manager.
Is there anything that I can do to increase my FPS? If possible, can I increase the FPS while also upping the graphics a little? I can't stand constantly having to play with a fog making it look like I'm heading to the edge of the world.
If I need to post any more technical info, please let me know.
It's just the integrated graphics card, let me see...
Yeah, just an Intel integrated graphics card. Doesn't have any details.
If it helps, I have a Sony Vaio Model: VPCEB33FM. It's standard aside from some extra RAM that I installed.
About Optifine... I've tried Modpacks with Optifine installed (even installed it myself) and it's the same problem. While it isn't quite as choppy, I still have to play like I'm running it on a toaster rather than a laptop.
Just a quick update, I tried uninstalling and reinstalling MC and Tekkit. It doubled my FPS, but won't go higher than 24 FPS at any given moment and still will drop when I try to do anything interesting. Still have to keep my video settings low and all the other stuff.
Only thing I can think of would be to decrease your resolution or use a lower-res monitor while playing. It would reduce strain on the integrated graphics card a little.

Curse PremiumAlso, if Tekkit doesn't come with Optifine (I can't remember) install that manually. It helps out a lot.
