Ok so my left mouse button has recently stopped working, but it works outside of minecraft. I check my control settings and everything seems fine. i use a windows 8 laptop with a external keyboard and with a wireless mouse. i cant destroy blocks or attack because my left mouse button isnt working! i have only a optifine mod, in case you're wondering. i dont think i should get a new mouse because my touchpad isn't working too (left mouse button)! i tried reinstalling minecraft and restarting my laptop but it still doesn't work!

My only advice would be is try to re-install the game, maybe that'll fix your problem or try doing a force update on Minecraft.

How do I do the force update?

It could perhaps be a compatibility issue, but that's just a guess.
