So every 30 seconds or so the game pauses, going into the pause menu, and the windows setting bar opens. Is there any reason that this would be happening?

A Win8 thing.. what normally makes that comes up, is there a hot key for it, or just a hot spot somewhere on the margin of the screen (and where?) ?

Sometimes when people have MC pause by itself they have a 5-button / gaming mouse and one of the buttons is actually generating an Escape sequence in the control stream. The mouse driver uses that for the extra buttons but if MC gets it, then MC will behave just as if you had hit the escape key and it will pause. I don't think the MC itself is causing this to happen otherwise there would be more posts about in the forum.

SO it might be something specific to your mouse / mouse driver, or MC control key bindings that are making it happen.

You might also see if there is a difference between running MC maximized versus running full screen.

Laptop. I plugged in my mouse and it stopped happening. I am still not sure why it happened in the first place
