Hello everyone!

I know I've posted a similar topic in the modded minecraft section, but it isn't just Technic. Vanilla Minecraft is giving me problems too.

My problem is, I'm getting about 7 to 12 frames per second. Which is awful. The gameplay is really choppy, even when I change the video settings so that I could run it on a potato with a processor and a monitor.

Is there anything that I can do to change this? I won't even mind playing it with the ultra low video quality, as long as I don't have to wait a couple of seconds to see if I was able to hit that creeper or not.

My tech specs:

Laptop. Sony Vaio VPCEB33FM
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU 2.40 GHz
RAM: 8GB
Hard Disk Drive: 143 GB
Video Card: Intel Integrated HD Graphics Card.

I'm using a 64-bit version of Java.
I have my laptop set to performance, rather than power saver or balanced.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Minecraft.
I gave Java a high priority in my task manager.
I even tried allocating a bit more RAM to Minecraft.

Is there anything else I can try doing to up my FPS? I would really like it if I could play without having such thick fog. I don't like not knowing if I'll be walking off of a cliff in the next few trots or not.

Also, if I need any more information posted, let me know. I tried to get everything.

So, a quick update. I've tried changing my version of Java to one that was a bit older and, from what I've heard, more stable than the current one. Still, no notable difference.

Still having these problems. If it helps, Minecraft USED to run perfectly fine a while back. Back when I first got my computer. Don't know what happened between then and now.
