OK, I've tried every trick in the book to get this to work, but no dice. I'm trying to open my 1.7.9 world to LAN on windows, but the other computers on my connection can't seem to detect it. When LAN worlds are opened on those computers I can't see them either although they can connect to each other just fine. The issue started about a week ago which is weird because it worked for a while on 1.7.9 and then just stopped! I have no idea what setting could be stopping this, I've taken down all my firewalls... any help would be greatly appreciated!
Just making sure the ip is correctly typed could help... maybe if you check that the computer is connected to the same WIFI as yours... im not sure about that problem...
I am connected wirelessly whilst the other computers are connecting with cables, but all to the same modem. And as far as I can tell, the issue is not with the IP...
OK, for anyone having similiar issues I've figured out the problem! I was doing some server work and encountered the same problem. I looked up bukkit's error message and found out that there were other java servers running on the default port that I had no idea were there. You can end these servers through your task manager! A rather simple fix!
