i have been playing minecraft since beta and had lots of memories with minecraft. during the minecraft 1.3.2 update i decided to not play minecraft for as long as i can to see if its even more fun than when i started. so i deleted the .minecraft folder in %appdata% and deleted the minecraft launcher. now that it is 1.7.9 (i have been gone a long time). i open the new launcher which seems alien to me, log in and click play. it downloads all the files and i noticed there is a new dev console which i found really cool so i decided to see whats goin up in there. i waited about 8-9 minutes and noticed that it was stuck at Job 'Resources' finished successfully (took 0:08:44.052). i deleted .minecraft and tried again with the same results. i disabled and even deleted my antivirus with no prevail. i have winrar so its nothing to do with unpacking natives or anything. ive even disabled my firewall with the same result. oh and btw i have a gaming pc called the xotic executioner :http://computers.toptenreviews.com/gaming/xotic/xotic-executioner-details.html

p.s. i also have the latest version of java 64 bit installed with windows 7 premuim 64 bit
