So i'm using the 1.6.4 for some mods(tinkers construct,optifine, and shaders mod) and i'm having trouble allocating more than 1400mb of RAM. i'm trying through the launcher like i'm supposed to, and i've gotten 8 gb's of ram and i'm trying to give it 4 (i did this fine on my windows 7 install; now i have windows 8) but it gives me the "Could not create Java Virtual machine" on anything over ~1400mb. i've made sure that i'm running 64 bit java with no other installs(no 32 bit installed, tried that too) so i'm still struggling to find a solution.
i don't need it right now but i'm planning on getting chroma hills.

Of course this is Windows 7 if you have a different operating system its different but not by much.
