I have been getting error messages while trying to launch Minecraft and it says, "This application requires a Java Environment 1.6.0" and I have no idea how to fix it. I've tried watching a few videos on YouTube and none of their solutions have worked for me. It seems like most topics about this have been closed or haven't been active for a long time.
I think I may have updated Java yesterday but it continued to work afterwards until this morning so please help me
[By the way I'm running on a Windows 8 Sony Viao if that matters at all]
You have corrupt installations of Java. Please remove all mentions of Java from the machine via the control panel. Reboot, then grab the latest here, http://java.com/en/download/manual.jsp
Please get the 64-bit version if you have a 64-bit OS.
